Deciding between purchasing an Android or iOS mobile depends entirely on our preferences and of course, our budget. In the case of wanting an Apple mobile, we will have to spend a significant amount of money, even for the most basic models with less storage capacity. However, there are some advantages, such as Apple’s statement that the battery life of the iPhone 15 has doubled, specifically, they last twice as many charge cycles before their capacity is reduced to 80%.
Smartphones today are much more useful than they were years ago, and this has allowed them to become a higher priority in our lives. More and more people are choosing to buy high-end mobiles or brands such as Apple. This is somewhat curious since the vast majority of people who end up purchasing one of these mobiles use it for basic functions like WhatsApp, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and not much more. The full power and capacity of these mobiles are not completely utilized, but it should also be considered that by acquiring one of these, it will last more years without becoming outdated.
Apple claims that the iPhone 15’s battery lasts twice as long as before, reducing its degradation.
In the case of Apple, we have a mobile with a good screen, performance, fluidity, and an excellent camera. Some people do not want to have to investigate and compare dozens of Android mobiles to choose one and buying an iPhone knowing that it works well is enough. In the case of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, these managed to surpass the Samsung S23 Ultra in battery life according to tests we saw, although they didn’t have much advantage. This mobile has a battery capacity of 4,422 mAh, and yet it was able to beat the Samsung mobile with 5,000 mAh.
In the case of the iPhone 15, we have 3,367 mAh, much less, but since it uses a SoC that consumes less, the battery lasts longer. All of this must be taken into account, as Apple has said that the iPhone 15 battery will withstand 1,000 full charge cycles (from 100% to 0% battery) until its capacity drops to 80%. This amounts to double the battery life that the iPhone 15 originally supported, as 500 charge cycles were the benchmark that Apple set when measuring battery degradation.
Battery cycles have only doubled for all iPhone 15 models.
IOS 17.4 Beta 4 was released recently, but this update was not the cause of this increased battery life. Apple itself has argued that improvements in battery components and updates in the energy management section over the years have allowed the iPhone 15 battery to last 1,000 charge cycles instead of 500.
The bitten apple company already warns that this improvement is only guaranteed in its iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. So, if we have an iPhone 14 or older Apple mobiles, none of this changes, and we will continue to use the 500 charge cycles as a reference.
