So, HTC is trying one-up its competing manufacturers by unveiling a new, unique phone that responds with a firm squeeze on its edges. The upcoming HTC U phone, codenamed OCEAN, will be equipped with “Edge Sense” that incorporates touch sensors embedded in the frame around the phone.
The HTC U will be coming out on May 16th. This is what the rumor mill has been digging up on the squeezable phone.
- 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 display
- a Snapdragon 835 processor
- 12MP rear and 16MP front-facing cameras
- Android Nougat 7.1
The squeeze technology will likely help users toggle open apps, unlock phone, start-up the camera…a few shortcuts to what one normally uses a smartphone.
