NVIDIA proudly announced today that their NVIDIA RTX technology is now featured in over 500 applications and games. It’s worth noting that this achievement took some time, as the technology was first introduced in 2018. Specifically, on August 20th of that year, Jensen Huang, President and CEO of NVIDIA, unveiled the world’s first RTX-capable graphics card, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080.
The first game to utilize this technology was Battlefield V, followed a year later by Metro Exodus, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Quake II RTX. As for applications, the most well-known ones include Blender and Adobe Premiere.
A quick look at the new milestone of NVIDIA RTX technology
Additionally, NVIDIA highlights that RTX technology is highly sought-after in games. As evidence, at least 98% of GeForce RTX 40 users enable Ray Tracing or DLSS in modern games, including Alan Wake II, Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo IV, and even Minecraft.
RTX encompasses a range of technologies that enable high-performance, high-fidelity gaming. Ray Tracing, powered by dedicated RT cores, brings immersive and realistic lighting and reflections to games. NVIDIA DLSS, made possible by Tensor cores, offers industry-leading AI graphics acceleration capable of delivering up to five times better performance in Cyberpunk 2077.
RTX is also integrated into the world’s most important creative applications, accelerating workflows by orders of magnitude, powering exciting AI tools and enhancements, and enabling real-time Ray Tracing previews in applications that previously took hours to render a single frame.
Today we celebrate a milestone that has been years in the making: 500 games and applications with RTX!
NVIDIA also releases new GeForce 546.29 WHQL drivers
Additionally, new drivers have been released, but do not expect major improvements. These are designed to provide access to NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 technology for Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Furthermore, the Warzone version of Call of Duty will receive NVIDIA DLSS support. On the other hand, Throne and Liberty adds support for NVIDIA DLSS 3, as does Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Fortnite Chapter 5.
Additionally, the following list of monitors are now compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technology:
