Samsung is heavily investing in artificial intelligence (AI), and some AI-driven features for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 have been revealed.
Samsung had been developing its proprietary Exynos chips for their smartphones; however, they decided to abandon them for the Galaxy S23 and used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC instead, which offered superior performance and efficiency. While this move allowed Samsung to regain competitiveness in the high-end market, the future Galaxy S24 is expected to offer options between Qualcomm and Exynos chips. Like others in the industry, Samsung is also joining the AI race and will provide features and functions powered by AI technology in their phones.
Leaked information provides a list of AI features that the Samsung Galaxy S24 will incorporate. The new Galaxy lineup is scheduled to launch in mid-January 2024, specifically on the 17th. Based on this leaked information, we can get an idea of the unique features the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will offer, including five AI-powered functions.
The first feature, Live Translate, will allow users to speak and translate languages in real-time, although it will only work for phone calls initially. It will support English and Spanish at first, with Japanese and Korean being added later. The second feature, Nightography Zoom, enables users to zoom further, even in low-light situations. Generative Edit will allow users to fill in the background of photos using AI, similar to what we have seen in some applications.
The fourth AI-driven feature of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is High Resolution, which will enable users to enhance the details of photos taken with the 200 MP camera. Finally, Screen Display will optimize the screen’s brightness during usage. These features will also be available on other models of the brand; however, the Samsung Galaxy S24+ will be “limited” in terms of enhancing photo details since it will use a 50 MP camera.
With the leaking of these AI features, we have almost all the necessary information before the official release. Specifications and prices for the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra were recently leaked. We saw that the Samsung Galaxy S24 will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the US and Canada, while the rest of the world will use the Exynos 2400.
