GTA 6 llegará en el 2025 en PlayStation 5 y Xbox Series X|S: jugadores de PC para el 2026

Last night, the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) was leaked, prompting Rockstar to advance its release, and we now know on which PlayStation and Xbox consoles it will debut. While the trailer indicates that the game will arrive sometime in 2025, a press release issued later clarifies the launch platforms. Without any surprises, this game will initially arrive on consoles.

In the press release from Take-Two Interactive, it is stated that the highly anticipated game from Rockstar Games, GTA 6, will arrive in 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. This debunks rumors of a time-limited exclusive release for Sony’s console and, of course, confirms that PC gamers will not be able to play GTA 6 at launch. This is not surprising, as the company always releases its games on consoles first, followed by PC a year later. Thus, PC Master Race gamers will not be able to play GTA 6 until at least 2026.

GTA 6 will be a true exclusive new-generation experience for PlayStation and Xbox consoles

In other words, whether you’ve realized it or not, GTA 6 will not be coming to previous-generation consoles. This means bidding farewell to the PlayStation 4/Pro and Xbox One/X. This reveals that we are dealing with a new-generation game that will require much more power, and even an SSD, to ensure a smooth gaming experience. This has helped create a game that significantly differs from its predecessor visually while discarding compatibility with an obsolete generation of consoles.

“Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., is proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto VI will be coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S entertainment and gaming systems in 2025.”

“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the boundaries of what is possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We are thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players worldwide.”

Grand Theft Auto VI is arguably the most anticipated game in history

This claim is not made by us, but rather corroborated by the trailer released on YouTube. For context, the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto V was released 12 years ago and has since amassed 96 million views and 2.1 million likes. However, the “Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1” was released just 10 hours ago (at the time of writing) and has already accumulated more than 53 million views and 6.6 million likes. This makes it the first game in history to achieve these numbers.

Despite being a leak, and there are still people who don’t know the game has been officially announced, Rockstar Games’ tweet announcing the leak and releasing the trailer has garnered nearly 1 million likes and almost 60 million views. This accomplishment also sets a new benchmark in terms of interaction on the X (Twitter) social network.

The announcement of GTA 6 arriving in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with PC players waiting until 2026, first appeared on El Chapuzas Informático.
