However, despite the success of Baldur’s Gate 3 and others, none can match the popularity of the Grand Theft Auto series. Rumors have been circulating about a possible trailer for GTA 6, which is expected to be released on the first Sunday of December.
Grand Theft Auto is one of the most popular franchises in the entire gaming industry. Specifically, Grand Theft Auto V became the second best-selling game in history, beaten only by Minecraft. Each year, more players join, and we typically see a title that can surpass both games. It seems that Grand Theft Auto VI could be that title, considering that each new installment from Rockstar outperforms its predecessor.

Even GTA 4, which received mixed reviews, managed to slightly outsell GTA 3: San Andreas, which is considered one of the best games in the franchise. Nevertheless, with GTA 5, Rockstar Games achieved the impossible by selling over 190 million units, almost seven times more than GTA 4. Surpassing these sales figures will be a real challenge for Rockstar Games, but it’s worth noting that we’ve been anticipating GTA 6 for almost a decade.
During this time, we have not seen anything official from Rockstar, except for a “small exception,” the announcement of a GTA 6 trailer scheduled for December. The company only revealed it would be in early December, but YouTuber SanInPlay has reported that the trailer will be released on Sunday, December 3rd, with a scheduled Facebook post (around the 10-minute mark in the video).
The trailer will be shown before the Game Awards
According to the report, this comes from an anonymous source claiming that a Meta employee found the date in an encrypted message from Mark Adamson on Facebook. If this information is entirely accurate, it would be coming from the Executive Vice President of Marketing at Rockstar, making it official information. The Game Awards host, Geoff Keighley, is also mentioned in connection with the announcement.
The Game Awards ceremony will showcase the 2023 GOTY (Game of the Year) winner and announce the awards for other participating games. Interestingly, this year’s event will take place on December 8th, 2023, at 1:30 AM in Spain. If the information is accurate, Rockstar will present GTA 6 before the awards ceremony. This should come as no surprise, as Red Dead Redemption 2 was first announced on Sunday, October 16th, 2016. It is worth noting that the trailer will most likely be more of a teaser or a truncated version of everything the game will offer. Although we do not know the official release date, rumors suggest GTA 6 could be delayed until 2025.
