It is the phone that will challenge Google and Apple, making it the highly anticipated device of 2024, aiming to claim the performance crown in terms of CPU, GPU, and AI. Samsung wants it all, and with just over a month and a half until its unveiling, leaks once again showcase that everything is more than ready. Therefore, today the official specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S24 range are revealed, including the S24+ and S24 Ultra, with an interesting surprise.
Four official colors will be available worldwide, with promotional images showcasing the colors and phones. Notably, the features for the different models don’t vary significantly from each other.
Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+: these are their official specifications
The same four color options as the flagship smartphone will be available but with different names for unspecified reasons, which is curious. These colors will be Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow.
The S24 will feature the Exynos 2400, while only the S24+ will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Differences lie in better performance for the larger device, as it offers more battery capacity, increased RAM, and Wi-Fi 7.
As for surprises, everything revolves around the Vapor Chamber. It has been leaked that the S24 will have a 1.5x larger cooling system, while the S24+ ups the ante, boasting a 1.6x larger system compared to the S23+.
In exchange, an aluminum frame—rather than titanium—will be used, which also helps with temperature management since aluminum dissipates heat better than titanium, although it is considered “less premium.”
Galaxy S24 Ultra: the high-end Samsung specifications that aim for the top market
This model is undoubtedly the most interesting because Samsung put more emphasis on this device than the others, following a similar strategy to Apple with its iPhones. The colors are the same as its bigger siblings, but the names change to Titanium Black, Titanium Grey, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow.
Notable specifications include a 12 MP selfie camera, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle, 200 MP wide-angle, 10 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and 50 MP with a second telephoto and 5x zoom.
Storage capacities reach up to 1 terabyte, with 12 GB of RAM and a 5,000 mAh battery featuring Fast Charge 2.0. It comes with Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 7, and Corning Gorilla Armor for the screen, which is confirmed to be completely flat, a feature highly requested by brand users.
Lastly, the Vapor Chamber cooling system must be highlighted, as Samsung is determined not to make Apple’s temperature mistakes. The S24 Ultra features a Vapor Chamber that is 1.9x larger than its predecessor, suggesting that it can handle more AI load on its SoC and less in the cloud.
The release date for all three devices is set for January 17, although no leaked prices have been reported yet.
