REDMAGIC has announced what might be the best gaming monitor on the market – a 27-inch, unnamed monitor boasting a miniLED panel that will delight any gamer. The impressive display features a whopping 5,088 LED dimming zones, nearly five times the market-standard 1,152 zones.
Unlike OLED panels, miniLED panels achieve higher brightness levels, enhancing the visual experience in well-lit rooms. They also provide more precise local dimming control, longer lifespan, and resist image burn-in – a common OLED issue. OLED’s advantages lie in thinner panels, wider viewing angles, and lower power consumption; however, these benefits might not be as significant when sacrificing overall display quality and longevity.
REDMAGIC’s 27-inch miniLED monitor boasts a native 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a refresh rate of 160 Hz. It can achieve a maximum brightness of 2,200 nits, promising an ultra-bright gaming experience. Additionally, the display integrates a Fast IPS AUO 7.0 panel, which covers 99% of the DCI-P3, sRGB, and Adobe RGB color spaces. While the response time is not specified, Fast IPS typically implies a 1-millisecond response time (1ms GtG).
Being a gaming monitor, it comes with a software-configurable RGB LED lighting system on the rear. Other features include two USB 3.2 ports, a USB-C port, and three video inputs (2x HDMI 2.1 and 1x DisplayPort 1.4). The monitor is expected to be officially released in the local market tomorrow, coinciding with the unveiling of REDMAGIC’s latest flagship gaming smartphone, the Red Magic 9 Pro.
