Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet, thermal pads de grafeno para tu CPU o GPU

Thermal Grizzly, a well-known brand of thermal pastes and liquid metal compounds, has recently launched its latest product, the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet. We are presented with thermal pads that offer excellent thermal conductivity and serve as an alternative to traditional thermal paste.

Before starting the review of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet, we would like to thank the brand for providing us with the product for our analysis.

Packaging and Accessories

We begin the review of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet with its packaging on our worktable. In front of us is a black plastic bag with red and white details that provides little technical information, and not much more is available on the official website either.

Inside, we find an installation guide and a cardboard box containing the product itself.

The Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet comes well protected with layers of plastic and foam on each side, ensuring it arrives in pristine condition.

Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet

We continue the review of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet after removing it from its packaging and placing it on our table. We have here a thermal pad made of graphene with a vertically stacked molecular structure. This is a specially developed manufacturing process in which the hexagonal crystalline structure of graphite is broken along the basal plane to take advantage of graphite’s anisotropy in thermal conductivity.

Thanks to this optimized structure, it enables excellent and constant thermal conductivity. However, as a side effect of this complex manufacturing process, it also increases the electrical conductivity, so we must be very careful not to make contact with any electronic component when installing it. This is why it is sold in various sizes, all of them with a thickness of only 0.2mm and capable of handling temperatures ranging from -250ºC to 150ºC.

Size

Compatibility

24 x 12 mm

Intel Mobile CPUs

25 x 25 mm

Nvidia RTX 2080, RTX 3060 GPUs

29 x 25 mm

33 x 33 mm

AMD Socket AM5 CPUs

38 x 38 mm

AMD Socket AM3(+), AM4 CPUs,
Intel Socket 1700, 2066, 2011 CPUs

50 x 50 mm

Intel Socket 3647, 4677 CPUs

Additionally, they can be cut to adapt their dimensions to the specific needs of the product they will be used with, so the table above is just a guide for the possibilities they offer without cutting.

Installation

In our case, we will install the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet on an Intel Core i9-12900K processor with an LGA 1700 socket. Therefore, we will use a 38 x 38 mm pad and do not need to cut it, as the minor protrusions on the sides do not make contact with any components.

We must be very careful that the pad does not move when placing the heatsink or liquid cooling base on top, as it could then make contact with another component. Otherwise, the assembly is very simple and clean, ideal for those who regularly change the heatsink or processor. Moreover, the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet does not contain liquid components and does not degrade over time, unlike traditional thermal paste. It will not dry out or lose performance and can be reused as many times as desired.

Test Setup

For the review of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet, we assembled the following test setup:

– Thermaltake Core P3 TG Pro case
– MSI MEG Z690 Unify motherboard
– Intel Core i9-12900K processor
– CORSAIR iCUE LINK H150i LCD liquid cooling
– G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB memory @ 5600 MHz
– Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card
– Be Quiet! Dark Power 13 1000W power supply
– Windows 11 Pro Operating System

Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet Tests

As seen in the previous chart, the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet thermal pad offers performance very similar to the CORSAIR XTM70 Extreme Performance thermal paste that comes with the CORSAIR iCUE LINK H150i LCD liquid cooling by default.

The average temperature of all cores with the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet pad is 56.6ºC, while with the CORSAIR XTM70 Extreme Performance paste, this was 52.9ºC. Although there’s a small variation, the pad provides lower temperatures in Performance cores (Cores 1-8), which is important for avoiding thermal throttling.

Conclusion

We conclude the review of the Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet by highlighting the excellent performance provided by these high-end thermal pads, making them a perfect alternative to thermal paste. Their durability, easy installation, and cleanliness make them an outstanding choice for those who often change components or want a lasting solution. The only precautions that must be taken are to avoid contact with other components.

The Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet thermal pads are available for sale with prices ranging from €21.99 for the 24 x 12 mm version to €31.49 for the 50 x 50 mm version. Although not the most affordable option, the convenience, cleanliness, and top performance make it a strong consideration.

Major advantages:

+ Excellent performance and good thermal dissipation
+ Easy installation and use
+ High durability, no degradation over time
+ Clean installation and removal
+ Available in various sizes without needing to cut them

Negative aspects:

– Slightly high price
– Electrically conductive, care must be taken during installation

The Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet thermal pads have earned the Gold Award from El Chapuzas Informático.
