ZOWIE, BenQ’s gaming division, has announced the launch of two eSport-focused monitors – the ZOWIE XL2546X and XL2586X. Both utilize Fast TN panels to deliver high refresh rates and feature DyAc 2 technology with a new double-backlight design for sharp motion and precision gaming. These monitors also provide ergonomic adjustments and a convenient auto color mode selection.
In line with its mission to develop professional eSports equipment and enhance the gaming experience for maximum player performance, ZOWIE pays close attention to player feedback. Since introducing the XL series monitors in 2010, they have continuously updated panel technology for sharper images, enhanced software control for optimal settings adjustments, and improved user experience for total comfort.
DyAc 2 is a significant upgrade from DyAc/DyAc⁺, now using a dual-backlight system with more precise control to achieve a higher level of motion blur reduction and minimization of ghosting images. This results in sharper images with a clearer and more accurate sense of control, particularly helpful when aiming at enemies in dynamic targeting and rapid shooting scenarios.
The BenQ ZOWIE XL2586X offers a 24.1-inch panel at a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 540Hz, while the ZOWIE XL2546X has a 24.5-inch panel with the same Full HD resolution but a 240Hz refresh rate. Both achieve the same 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a maximum brightness of 320 nits.
To get the most out of the advanced monitor, a DisplayPort 1.4 should be used, along with an up-to-date Windows 11 operating system. Versions prior to November 1, 2023 will limit the monitor to 500Hz. Both monitors also offer a Full HD Console Mode at 120Hz through the HDMI 2.0 port.
The ZOWIE XL2586X (540Hz) features four video inputs in the form of a DisplayPort 1.4 and three HDMI 2.1 ports, while the ZOWIE XL2546X (240Hz) has three video inputs, consisting of a DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0 ports. Both can be adjusted in height, tilt, and swivel.
Additionally, the ZOWIE XL2586X incorporates Vivid Color Film technology, which reportedly enhances color performance by 35%, primarily increasing the ability to distinguish enemy targets from the background and improving color loss in conventional TN panels compared to other solutions.
As for pricing, the BenQ ZOWIE XL2546X is currently listed on the official ZOWIE website at a recommended price of $499. The more advanced 540Hz ZOWIE XL2586X model has yet to be priced, but it is expected to be in the neighborhood of, or in the four-figure range.
