Razer Project Esther: el cojín háptico HD para cualquier silla que vibrará en tus juegos como el mando de la PS5

PC peripherals are just as important as its hardware, particularly for gaming, as using inexpensive keyboards, mice, or monitors can hinder the full capabilities our computer offers. Comfort and ergonomics are also essential while sitting at the PC, and Razer aims to contribute in this regard. At CES 2024, Razer unveiled Project Esther, which they consider the first HD haptic cushion for gaming, allowing players to experience haptic vibrations during gameplay.

Every time a new console is released, video games achieve significant graphical leaps, becoming more realistic and complex. With the current generation of consoles, we have the ability to add Ray Tracing and use SSDs to minimize loading times. Realistic graphics are highly positive for single-player games, where cinematics and realism contribute to greater immersion. However, if we want to be truly immersed in the game, purchasing VR glasses and peripherals that transmit virtual experiences to real life is common.

Razer introduces Project Esther, their first haptic cushion for gaming

When the PS5’s DualSense controller launched in 2020, it offered something new that Xbox controllers did not: a haptic vibration system that responded to games. In the Astro’s Playroom demo, we could see how well it worked, creating unique vibrations depending on the surface we were on. Since then, haptic vibration has been used in various devices, including gaming headsets like the Razer Nari Ultimate.

Razer is one of the companies that has been implementing haptic feedback technologies in many of its products. At CES 2024, Razer introduced Project Esther, which they consider the first haptic cushion for gaming. In essence, this cushion aims to enhance gaming immersion by providing haptic feedback through vibration.

Project Esther is compatible with most gaming and office chairs and operates with 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity

According to Razer’s website, Project Esther has 16 haptic actuators that can identify the direction, distance, and location of sound effects through vibration. For instance, players can identify an explosion as near or far away based on factors like intensity, speed, or duration. Additionally, the haptic cushion is compatible with most gaming chairs and even ergonomic office chairs. It has adjustable straps to accommodate different chairs and is compatible with Razer Hyperspeed Wireless.

This means the cushion offers 2.4 GHz low-latency wireless connectivity, allowing for a seamless, cable-free haptic vibration experience. However, the release date and price of this haptic gaming cushion are not yet known, so we will have to wait for more information from Razer.
